Valonia or bubble algae. You want to remove it, it can get out of control.

I always hear people say this, but when you think about it, it makes no sense. What do you think an emerald crab does when it eats these? It pops them! Obviously you want to try to remove it intact, but I don’t think that if it pops it’s going to spread all over your tank.

That is true, I had some bubble algae and immediately got a emerald crab and that seemed to work for me! Manual removal would probably work just fine.
