I’m in the ugly stage 8months but what is that around my dead coral?

Phosphate 0.03 Hanna

I also started having hair algea in my refugium and it destroy my chaeto had to turn of the light to keep from spreading.
Also using the blue bucket from red sea and was thinking to switching to the Black bucket for sps my soft corals are doing fine but I tried putting beginner sps but they didn’t last long so switching to the black bucket would help?

Oh dang thats really low nitrates. You want to get that up to 4-8ppm. Two main reasons, coral health and to keep dinos at bay.

As above, you need more nitrate and if possible some more phosphates, nutrients are the most important parameters to keep at a reasonable levels to allow organisms to grow and aid the system to mature.
