I noticed these clear little tentacle looking things come out tonight. What is it? They look like feeder tentacles but it’s coming from the coral skeleton, only in one spot, and these are clove polyps. Maybe hydroids? But none I’ve ever seen. And there’s a pistol shrimp or it’s a crab still in this coral. I just dipped it again for like 15 minutes and it still won’t come out. Ugh!!!! I saw his little face tonight and he’s fuzzy looking possibly a gorilla crab. So maybe there’s multiple critters along with the claw of a pistol shrimp I saw the other night…or at least it looked like a pistol shrimp claw.

I’m not sure if hydroids attach like that.
Hard to zoom in enough but look like anemones. Possibly aiptasia, or maybe ball.

Here is a website I use for hitchhiker ID.

I looked again! Definitely ball anemones. And the little hitchhiker I think is a small crab. I saw him poking his little head out. Which is probably not good especially if he is a gorilla crab. I have a starfish and anemone etc.

I removed the coral and put it in a bucket until I can figure out a way to get the crab out.
You could set it out of the watery for a moment and see if it comes out.

Or drop a chunk of shrimp in the bucket to lure it out.
