Looks like fin is rotting away plus there is some white in the fins. How would you recommend me treating them?

They are chromis, but no red marks on them. Just white blotches in the fins and some of the fin is gone. I will try and post a better picture.

Sometimes uronema starts out white looking before turning into red sores. Have you had these chromis for awhile or are they new?

I have had them just over a week. Would it cause them to look like part of there fins got nipped off?

They are in with a flame hawk he doesn't seem to be effected, but also likes to hide.

I mean, it could be fin rot (a bacterial disease). But I've seen uronema start off like this as well.

Can you QT them?

They are in the qt right now, just not sure what to treat them with?

Or what was wrong, they are eating good just don't want things to get worse.

Two options (assuming it is just fin rot):
  1. Treat with a broad spectrum antibiotic such as Kanaplex or Furan-2.
  2. Treat with a natural remedy i.e. Melafix. I've had pretty good luck lately using Melafix for minor infections. It seems to be more fast acting than using standard antibiotics.
However, if any of the chromis break out in red sores like you saw in my photos, you're gonna need to treat with something like formalin or metro. In fact, dosing Metronidazole (ex. Seachem MetroPlex) would be a prudent move right now anyway. Combine with the antibiotic or Melafix, whichever you choose.

Ok thanks for your help. It looks like I will need to head to the fish store all I have is prazipro and cuprion.

The video makes it look more like tail rot. Are any of the chromis breathing heavy?
