What is wrong with my yellow tang?

Hello. I just picked up this small yellow tang 4 days ago and 3 days ago it developed this pigment only on one side. The other side is perfectly normal.

The fish is not eating either and has a skinny belly.

What is wrong with my fish and how do I treat it?

Can the fish get better on its own if it starts eating or it must be taken out and treat?

Also, is it contagious? I do not have any other tang in the tank.

Strange it looks like hlle or something. Im not sure what it is. Any white poop?
 
It looks like a bacterial infection. Is any of your other fish having issues? Its hard to tell from the photos, but it looks like he has a pinched stomach. You could try to feed some nori soaked in garlic. Anything possibly leaching into the water? Like non food grade plastics, or ammonia. Good Luck

It could be a bacterial disease, fish are exposed to a lot of stress as they move through the supply chain. It would help to have more background information about your tank. Here is a link to some items that help us:
