I have already rectified the problem but there was a major oversight on my part when doing this end of plumbing. I was wanting to show to see if anyone else catches it, and hopefully people don't make the same mental misstep. Below is a couple shots if the problem.

I know in one if the pics the return line is disconnected, that is not the problem I am trying to point out.

In picture two there is a line not connected to anything. In the second one There is no return line.

Some of you may not consider this a problem, but the return line coming off my skimmer was angled up over the sump instead of through it (easily seen in the first pic). The level if this pipe is higher than the skimmer body is tall. The water level inside the skimmer was about two to three inches up the collection cup neck (at the waterline inside the return pipe). This elevated waterline caused water to slowly leak out from where the collection cup connects to the skimmer body. I bought the h&s skimmer used and didn't think this through when installing it, (never used an external skimmer before this one) Didn't find out about the minor leak till I turned on the feed pump and the skimmer filled up way past the body top. The collection cup screws off for low clearances on this skimmer, no o-ring or gasket at the top. Some of the other concerns are addressed below.

The trickle filter is what came with the tank, and it is converted to a sump I guess..I don't know the difference but it is just like the sump on my old tank.

For the gfci on the wall beneath the plumbing, I have modified a tuperware container to go over the top once everything is installed, just in case.

The disconnected line in pic 1 is just my disconnected return line (to the tank).
