What is your dream captive-bred fish?

Interestingly, I was just speaking to Matthew Pedersen yesterday. He did a talk on obligate corallivores at MACNA back in 2018 (). He has a Melon and Arabian that he's kept in his care for 6+ and 5+ years now, respectively. He made several unsuccessful attempts with others along the way, but I'd definitely consider that long-term success.

I also know Tanne Hoff kept an Orangeface for 2-3 years, too, because he had a number of videos documenting it along the way.

I'd consider both to be expert aquarists, and there appears to still be a lot of luck involved in their successes.
I've seen the MACNA presentation before, but I didn't know he (or anyone else for that matter) had kept some successfully - that's good to know. I just wish I knew what made them successful where the others I've seen have failed (the Arabians and Melons are honestly some of my favorite butterflies, and I would love to be able to keep them long term).

I'd love to see some captive bred eels. Be it snow flake, Zebra, Golden Dwarf, or Hawaiian Dragon. Not sure how feasible it is but I'd love to give it a try someday.

Outside of that...all of them! ;)
Don’t forget banana. That’s on my bucket list

Deep water anything so we stop killing then plus some just out of this world amazing

I know you guys have them, and they are great! I need a bigger tank before buying one, or I am going to have the tang police on me
If you become friends with the tang police I wonder what would happen.
