I have two ricordea shrooms in my tank. I have seen them move across the frag plug, but never to this extent. I was gone from my tank for maybe an hour and in that time the shroom traveled a good foot away from its frag plug. So, what is your experience with mushrooms moving?

I have had mine for a few months and have never seen it move off its frag plug. I'm following this because I'm also curious to know why yours would move like that.

Can't say about rics, but my rhodactis and discosomas will move if they for any reason don't like their placement, too strong lighting, flow, overcrowding, etc.

I've actually used this to my advantage to keep them from overruning the entire tank, by forcing them BACK into the shadows, from whence they came!!! :p

That’s pretty far for a mushroom to move in a hour. The mushrooms I have are constantly moving slowly and leaving pieces of its foot behind to grow new mushrooms

I don't find they move more than a few cm.... I find if they are unhappy they release.

Is your mushroom attached in its new spot or is it free?

It's attached to a vacant hermit shell
