Not really true. Messing with the ratios is not recommended as it will throw off your mix balance. Almost crashed a tank doing it.
The four part components is just to make sure your mix is always consistent. Lots of things I like about the salt except the mid-high alk... Lowering wasn't a good idea for me.

Started using esv about 3 months ago. I like it because each batch is consistent.
Used reef crystals before and was also happy with it.

As long as I can continue to get esv for under 80 bucks...
200 gallon mix I'll stick with it.

If I was to switch again I would use rc again.

Never had a problem that was caused by me tweaking the ALK part of the mix. I have been doing it for going on two years in March. 7dkh.

I have been alternating my salts between Reef Crystals and Coral Pro with each water change, and had great success with the growth of acros from that. It was a little trick I learned from someone local. I am very curious about ESV salt though. Anyone know where I can order it for a good price?
