New to the hobby, and there is something on my snail. It's part of the original cuc, so I didn't really bother to QT. What's popping out of it's shell? Sorry if it's a bad picture still getting the hang of taking tank pics!

Thanks!

I'm going to go with vermetid snails. They can be a little bit of a pain. The put out a long string when feeding to catch food and those strings can irritate corals.

Thank you guys! Super quick response is always appreciated!! So would it best to just scrub them off?
I'd leave them be, think about how cool it is another animal made its home on the back of another already tiny animal. I think it's fascinating no way I'd get rid of it but that's just me personally

They are solid and will be hard to get off. You could try to scrape them off with a razor blade or I will pry them off with a small flathead screw driver whenever I get them on frags or something. I have them in my tank and overall they don't cause any problems. But I do try to keep their population down.

But if it's something that can irritate Coral, while I don't have any yet, I also don't want them to get messed with when I do ya know.

Hmm I didn't know it irritates corals. Find something else to stick on ur snail then :p

It won't cause damage to coral or anything it just annoys them more than anything. Get an anemone to chill on it like this guy. LOL
