You are losing the tissue and it appears others are melting away.
Take it off the bottom and bring it up to lower 1/2 of tank. Moderate light and water flow is best conditions.
For this tissue loss, you can do an iodine dip and let it sit under low-moderate flow and low light as mentioned.
High alk and salinity may also cause this - Check both
