What killed my fish? Ich? Symptoms listed

My royal gramma was dead this morning. I knew he had something wrong with him but I thought GC would take care of it, apparently it didn’t. I’m still not sure what he had.

Symptoms:
Lots of flashing
Not eating much/not leaving cave much
Skin was slightly bruised kinda
Slight fin rot possibly

I didn’t really see any spots indicating ich, so if it WERE ich, would the fish be covered? Or is it common/possible to die from ich or velvet with no spots?

does ich go away when the fish dies? Ie: do the parasites leave the body? Because he had no spots when I took him from the tank.

lastly, I don’t think it was flukes because I FW dipped the dead body and nothing came out. Although not sure if this would work as the fish isn’t breathing and moving water over the parasites actively.

General cure would kill flukes.

Sometimes ich/velvet do not show symptoms as they can collect in the gills and essentially suffocate the fish.

I have also noticed bacterial infections are kinda common with royal grammas. I'm guessing yours was quite small as it typically only happens to young royal grammas (this is from experience at fish stores).

Typically with royal grammas I treat with copper and at the first sign of a bacterial infection I treat with kanaplex+ furan-2

I believe ich/flukes/velvet all come off the fish after it dies (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

The bruise sounds like Uronema marinum. Possibly. Not sure if it’s a problem that this type fish can get, but worth looking at.
