The red looks like cyano which is a bacteria and the brown could either be brown cyano, diatom (which is unlikely if the tank is well matured... or worse it could be dinos!!

Bacillariophyceae (Diatoms)

Brown to gold coating on sand bed, liverock and glass during the cycling process is due to diatoms which are going through a bloom. All part of a normal cycle process of a newly set up aquarium.

+1 on the diatoms and cyano due to red and bubbles. crossing my fingers for you that it isnt dino

Then it's probably not diatoms... sponges should have soaked up all of the silicates that fuel diatoms. It could either be brown cyano or Dino's.

It very well could be... but just to be sure look up what both look like an give it your best judgment.
The best way to beat any kind of cyano is to do your regular 15-20% weekly water changes (more is better), skim heavy, dont over stock the tank, and one of the most important would be to not over feed!! Another method to battle cyano is to run GFO in a reactor... Since cyano is fuel by phosphates the GFO will remove them from the water.

You may not have enough flow at the sand level so food and waste settle into the sand causing the bloom. I had a similar problem and it cleared itself up by adding a couple power heads near the sand.
