Grower of the Small Polyps
I noticed a lot of brown algae with bubbles. Notice the one rock with mo algae in the middle but on both sides. There is a brace in the middle of the tank and the algae isnt growing where the light doesn't hit it.
What kind of Algae is this?

I can’t say I’ve never had to deal with them. If you search dinoflagellates you will find a lot of experience and advice on the fourm.Will they go away on their own? If not, what is the game plan

I thought so to. I looked up diatoms a d they look similar as well. I read that Chaeto will fight for the nutrients and smother them out.
I will be getting some Chaeto

Could be, I have had diatom algae but not with the air bubbles.

That sounds like diatoms.

Definitely diatoms then. They both come ... and when the silica they feed on is gone ... go very, very quick.
As for the air bubbles, many microalgaes will produce them. By product of photosythesis is oxygen. Let enough film algae build up on your glass and you'll see little bubbles start to form on it.
Looks like Diatoms with a mixing of Cyanobacteria to me not snotty strings of Dino.
I would blow it off with a turkey baster, let it settle and siphon it out. Reduce your lighting period if you running it over 8 hours and add some Phosguard. Add more flow to the tank if indicated and make sure your pH is stable.
