What kind of algae is this?

Can someone identify what type of algae this is? If so how do I combat it?

Diatoms .How old is your tank?

Looks like a new tank diatoms bloom... regular Wc's and time will fix it.

Oh yeah thats a new tank for sure. Its diatoms, totally normal. Kill the lights for a week or so that will kill them. I ran my tank for 2 months with no lighting, I am in month 4 now and never had an aglae outbreak, so far, and just started getting the green film algae on the glass.
