I would say that is a type of Turf Algae. Have you tested your parameters lately?

No the last three times I tested. I got zero nitrates and phosphates

It looks to be a species of Lobophora.

These may help you out.

This blows off the over flow with a turkey baster

It is most likely caused from having a dead spot in that area if it releases easily.

Is there a way for you to get more flow in that area. I would think that alone would take care of the problem.

I really have a lot of flow. 2mp 40s mostly cranked in a 3foot. 65 gallon. I think it’s diatoms. It’s on the rocks some too

I got new sediment filter and carbon and di mixed bed resin. The old one all the way golden from blue. The new one is purple I hope I got the right one for regular 4 stage unit

I got a urchin too. Hopefully this will clear up
