What kind of Algae is this....

All,

I finished a 4-5 month battle with Dinos! Crushed Bryopsis in 10 days with Fluconazole! Now I have this stuff in a few tuffs around the tank...at all depths...on the sand in spots, on the rock work in spots.

I'm currently on day 16 of fluconazole (2x dose)...doesn't seem to be budging at all.

Green hair algae, absolute pain in the backside if your tank isn’t big enough for a tang or Foxface rabbitfish. There was a thread somewhere where it explains how someone beat this stuff with algae eaters though!

Turf algae. Manually remove as much as possible. Start testing your no3 and po4 and figure where the algae is getting its nutrients: excessive food? Poor skimmer/filtration? Additives? From your water source?

if you're dosing fluconazole, continue dosing it. it does amazing vs bryopsis (from what i read), but for it to kill the GHA is needs to be dosed for 12-14 weeks(including the dosing time for bryopsis).

i would suggest maybe increasing your CUC, particularly snails. so as you are killing the GHA, once you're done dosing flucanozole, your CUC can keep it at bay.

edit: does look like turf algea. but i haven't seen any "clumps" this long.
