Hey guys I’m wondering how I should hang my lights here’s what my tank looks like. I have 2 mars aqua lights to hang

Can you post a picture of the inside of the canopy?

Here's how I did mine:

You need to run a small round bar from one side to the other and hang the lights from that. Put it up as high as you can get it. You can get round bar stock at your local big box store. For brackets, take two small blocks of wood and drill a hole slightly larger than the bar in each one, put the bar into the hole and screw the bracket to the inside of the canopy. Easy.

That’s only 5 1/2 inches though and lights I have recommend 12-16 inches. Just trying to get ideas as of now I will probably just make a stand with 2x4 or something like that to make the lights higher

Your choices are limited. May as well just ditch the canopy and like lapin said just hang them from the ceiling or maybe you can find some tank brackets that will work.

If you're hell bent on the Mars Aqua lights, you can ditch the secondary lenses which will allow somewhat closer mounting. Shallow canopies are also perfect for T5s.
