Hello I am now setting up/cycling my 220 gallon tank. I was thinking of have a pair of juv clowns. I would really like a pair of gold flake maroons AND a pair of black ocellaris. My lfs said with this size tank it should be a problem if adding the maroons last. I was confused cause I thought you could have different species. He said if the fish are juv then they will grow up together. Just wanted someone to make this clearer for me so I don't throw away. Thanks

Ask Marvin,, he has a tank of all clownfish. I would think if your going to do it you want to add them at the same time but im no expert..

I wouldn't do it, and especially wouldn't attempt it with a pair of maroons -- they are very aggressive and will become more aggressive once a pair forms and they start spawning. I have watched a mated pair of maroons harass a fire fish to death, which looks nothing like another clown.

One or the other. Maroon Clowns get big and very nasty towards other clowns. You can keep a combination of Black/White Clowns, Ocellaris, Snowflake, together. But Clarkiis, SKunks, Maroons are a bit on the very nasty side of Clownfish.
