So I am setting up a 55 gallon cube (25hX30wX18d) and I am trying to figure out which filter I should get. The tank isn't drilled so I was debating on adding a hob overflow box leading to a sump but I heard those can be unreliable. Then I saw the tunze comline 3162 but I am not sure if that would be able to keep up with the tank. Then there is canister filters.

What would be the best option for me?

I currently have a aquamaxx hob-1 skimmer that I will be using.

Thanks!

Drilling the tank will always be better. Saying that I have tanks with hang on over flows that do just fine. I have also used canisters. Canister filtration is a pain though.

I agree. I'm not really a fan of canister filters. I think I may try a hob overflow to a sump and if that doesn't seem to work that well then I can go back and drill the tank. I just really prefer not to drill it

That was me too. In the end my tanks may turn into sumps and if I drilled them I need to get new tanks to make sumps. The hobo is loud to me, so I put filter floss in it to quiet it down, pics is work for first stag filtration.
