what kind of fish is this?

Can someone please tell me what kind of fish this is

Its a juvenile dragon wrasse. They get to be about a foot long and will move your rocks around looking for something to eat.

+1 Dragon Wrasse. Looks really cool as a Juvi, but once they get older they aren't so pretty. Also, as mentioned they move rocks around, and therefore are not ideal reef pets

thank you guys! I managed to return it and got a another fish. I generally thought wrasse were reef safe but this particular type wasn't. The dragon wrasse are beautiful and very interesting type of fish though

Good on you for returning him! As adults, these things are no fun to deal with. There are many wrasses that are reef safe, and even the wrasses which are considered not reef safe usually only go after snails and inverts, but some like the Dragon Wrasse, Red Coris Wrasse, Lunar wrasse, etc are particularly destructive.
