I am knew to reefing, about 6 months in. I currently have an all-in-one 14g system. I also have the hood and lighting that it came with. I am looking to upgrade this lighting system and didn't know which was the best way to go. I also know with removing the hood that I'm going to have to invest in an auto top off. Which one should I go with?

I would go with a AI Prime HD lights and a smart ATO micro kit:)

If you do a little searching on your specific model, you can find LED upgrades that people sell or have made that might even use the hood that came with it.

Usually the lights that come with it are good enough to get you started. I probably wouldn't wait on new lights to get the corals rolling. :)

Standard Reef Rules™ apply, of course, so you have to mind your mineral levels and testing, keep up with water changes, etc.

Change the lights after you have time for research. :) You have at least until the factory bulbs need replacing before you have to spend more money on lighting....probably at least 6 months....maybe a year.

Do you know of any specific conversion kits?

We don't know which tank you have, but there are a ton of threads exactly on that topic
