What kind of mushroom?

My daughter bought this today for her tank. What kind of mushroom is this?

Well it looks like some kind of discoma, but the bubbles on it give me pause. They could be genetic, or they could be from damage. If it's genetic and they grow on there, that's a real nice shroom. Otherwise it's a normal green discoma mushroom.

Wait, scratch that. It may not be a discoma. I'll have to look on my computer for a better image.

Edit: Yeah, its hard to tell. I'd say discoma, but the mouth doesn't seem right. But its definitely not a rhicoria.

Maybe try making a post in the reef aquariums section. More people see that section.

Thanks Roboson! Will research those types and see which match up best. It was just added to the tank so the bubbles had deflated and it was shriveled up a lot.

Tell me what you find out. I think it's really cool looking, but I like odd corals.

They shrivel up at night, but if they're happy they'll open up during the day. That's the best way to tell if they like where they are.

I am tempted to say it looks like a Rhodactis type.

Pretty neat! Theres ben discosoma being collected with these odd grey bubbles more and more lately. But ive also seen rhodactis like this as well. Chances are it is indeed a rhodactis. Maybe try to get a better clear photo when it opens up?

We had to put it in a cup with a frag plug to keep it from floating away, so this picture is not much better. It has opened a little and the bubbles have inflated some. The bubbles are green on it.

Just curious, what do these normally sell for?

I got my red discoma as tiny frags from my LFS for $6 a pop. I'd pay quite a bit more for that guy though. I'm a little lacking in LFSs around here though (just the one). So I'm not exactly sure on pricing.
