Hey everyone,

I currently run a mag18 for my return pump in my sump for my 125 with a gl@ssholes 1500 gph overflow. The mag18 is getting pretty old, and I think I am having some heating issues with it as well as micro bubble issues. I'd like your suggestions on what type of return pump I should get to replace it :)

Thanks!
Ryan

I love my jebao return pump. It's very quiet, runs cool, uses little energy and is adjustable. Also take a look into the new ecotech vectra pumps, they look very nice.

I replaced two Mag 9's on my 180 with a single RO DC 10500 and cut the power consumption by more than half. But, I had to put a time delay on my skimmer due to the fact that the return pump starts up at a lower speed, and increases to full speed over a small period of time. This had the affect of causing my skimmer to overflow until the return pump got up to speed and the water in my sump got down to its normal operating level.

The Deepwater BLDC pumps are nice too. I have one running my manifold (BLDC 8) and it has plenty of flow. Running a carbon reactor, GFO reactor, bio pellet reactor and a 1" outlet back into the sump for the excess flow to run out. Setting is at #3 on the controller.
