What kind of salt does everyone?

Red Sea coral pro, switched back from io reef crystals....

AquaForest Reef Salt, AquaForest Balling Method. Before that RSCP, IORC to start tanks But would switch to RS. Really happy with AF and the results

Currently use RSCP. Have used in the past, Oceanic, Brightwell and IO. Will stick with RSCP for now as corals seem happy with it, it mixes up fast and clear. And results are consistent.

Cheers,
Alex

Been using instant ocean for the last few months. Before that was reef crystals. Got tired of the smelly brown stuff. Would prefer reef crystals without the brown

I have tried many Salts and will only use Tropic Marin Pro.

You can't trust Salts like Reef Crystals and Instant Ocean as Parameters are All Over the Place.

I used to Test Reef Crystals at 14 !

That is Insane.

I keep my Alkalinity Stable at 8.5 and that is What Tropic Marin Pro Gives me.

It Mixes Up Super Clean and is Made in Germany what else can you ask for?

IMO the expensive salts are over rated. Just personal preference. Instant Ocean and up will be fine. good luck

I totally disagree.

I keep my Tank at 8.5 Alkalinity

I test and Dose Every Day to Keep it Stable.

Why on Earth would you want a Salt that is 12-14 DKH when most reefers keep their tanks at 8-9?

Other Elements are Stable with More Expensive Salts too.

German Made Salts Mix up Super Quick and Super Clear.

The Last Time I used Reef Crystals (Over a Year Ago) It was Super Cloudy and Days Later was Super Cloudy. I couldn't even see the Heater in the 5 Gallon Bucket.

I said "No Way. I do not Trust this Crap."

I have spent tens of thousands of dollars reefing.

I am not going to loose it all to save a few bucks on salt!

Tropic Marin Pro Reef

I'm using it because of their low alk. An extra bonus is that it mixes very fast and doesn't leave any sort of residue. My lfs also carries it.

I Love TMP!

So Glad I Switched from Reef Crystals :)

I feel like I have seen a post on this, but what kind of salt does everyone prefer. I am currently using salinity and thinking about making a switch to possibly something cheaper if not cheaper definitely better quality.
I use different salts on a regular basis. For me I don't have a favorite but each brand has something that I like more than others.
I test each batch and adjust the parameters if needed to match my tanks parameters.
I use RSP, Regular Red Sea, IO, Reef Crystals, Tropic Marin and TMP, DD H2Ocean, Fritz, Seachem Reef, Kent and probably a couple of others I can't think of.
Some leave residue in the mixing container and some don't. Some mix quicker than others. Some I have to adjust the parameters a little and some I don't. My fish, corals and inverts seem to do just as well with whatever salt mix I use in both of my tanks.
I guess I prefer all salt mixes that contain major and minor elements needed for marine organisms.

Do you use a small pump to mix your salt? Still you made my point. You prefer a different salt because of the reasons you mentioned. I'm just neutral because different salts have their pro's and cons. Plus you are right their are salts that do blend more readily. I usually mix over night because salinity seems to change over time. I also use RODI water as well.

I Mix Slowly By Hand With a Spatula.

It takes me about 7 Minutes to Make a 5 Gallon Bucket of Saltwater :(
