what kind?

Can anyone please id this for me? I just bought it from a lfs and seems they did'nt know for sure what it is.The girl there said it was some kind of sea squirt and the owner was'nt sure ,he said maybe a type of leather coral.I have an idea as to what i think it is but want to make sure.
