Hey All,
Which LFS are you all using?
many to absolutely avoid?
Westchester / Fairfield / Bronx counties?
Thanks in advance!

I’ve used Salgado twice very happy so far. NY Aquatics is in Yonkers? Wow will need to check them out!
Any where else? Anyone that sells RO/DI (don’t have the room for a System).

Maybe ReefShoppe in Bronx sells Rodi, but I've never asked
You can get a smaller portable unit for your kitchen sink if necessary

Why? Prices are similar to House of Fins!

(Complete Aq is actually in Bedford Hills in case someone wants to check them out)

Are you in Danbury?
I’m next to danbury bordering brewster so I can get to both NYAquatic and complete aquarium in about 30-40 min.
Greenwich takes me 50 -60min minimum.
I also do work in the Mt kisco area more than I’m in Greenwich so that’s part of it.
Jaws aquarium is nice as well always seemed clean and healthy but parking is tight with my work van.
Part of why I like complete aquarium is it seems like he orders and conditions the fish in his store to also use in his customer accounts for the service side of the business . They are always healthy and the owner will feed them before you ask.

Life Aquatic in New Canaan, CT. Randy is the owner and is a knowledgeable and honest guy. Closed on Mondays. https://life-aquatic.com/what-sets-us-apart/our-philosophy/

Greenwich Aquaria is also a solid LFS with an honest owner and knowledgeable staff.
I just got done reading about Life Aquatic’s practices regarding their purchasing practices for fish they sell retail. Very enlightening. Sounds like a business that follows strict practices so I’d support them.
Going to check them out after quarantine is over.

I'm right off the Katonah exit on 684... I know people will be shocked, but Petco in Brookfield usually has good inventory and pricing.
The company I work for has our shop just down the street and I often go in there for a quick look and it’s almost alway in nice clean healthy shape.

I think there also one in Riverside, CT (2 exits north of Greenwich)

Awesome thank you all for the answers today! Looks like a small but responsive group! Saw a past posting for a Frag Swap... Did you guys ever pull it off?

How’s the new location working? I haven’t been into the new store yet.

Well before all this it was going great. It is 50% larger in sq ft terms. Supply chain stuff also not helping much right now -- especially on the fish side. Some standard fish he just cannot source right now. He is rather particular about his distributors though which is part of the challenge. Good inventory of upscale zoanthids, basic SPS, basic LPS.

Disclosure: I have known Randy for a decade, manage the coral systems there (2 hours a day or so), and consign most of the SPS stuff there.

As @Alanna102499 mentioned, another solid LFS nearby is Greenwich Aquaria. I know a few of those guys quite well. Good people.
