What light is best for zoas?

When I had a Biocube 32 I was able to grow acans, trachys and scolys sitting on the bottom, cabbage leathers and turbinarea, mid tank, etc. (I forget the others, lol) Granted, the stock light is not ideal for certain coral species, but you'll find a lot of pics on this blog of beautiful specimens under this light.

This isn’t true. Independent PAR tests of the 32g biocube put it much higher than that. Its not going to get you amazing SPS growth, but it’s absolutely powerful enough to grow soft corals and LPS, and tons of people on this forum do. I don’t think suggesting to someone to just start over is really helpful (especially when what they’re using is a common tank that a lot of people have success with).

OP- You should set a total photo period of 12 hours with a maybe 8 hour period of highest intensity in the middle. So as an example for your tank:
8am - 8pm blue lights
10am - 6pm white/daylights
And then if you wanted to turn on the moon lights for a couple hours after the other lights go off you can. You don’t necessarily need a 12 hour photoperiod, but since the biocube lights are on the lower end in terms of PAR, I would go with the full 12 hours.
I'm not holding my breath for any nice photos, but how about a full tank shot showing a Biocube with a nice reef to back up your claim. I've been doing this for 20 years, and I can assure you a Biocube is not an ideal choice to create a nice reef. If you make it work it will be very limited in what you can grow. If you're happy with that than that's great because it's a hobby and we're all supposed to have fun, but a Biocube is NOT an ideal choice. Here's my reefs over the years:

I've been doing this for over 5 decades-you'd be amased at what you can make work.
My first tank in 1968 was a plastic shoe box(about 1.5 gallons of water) that I raised(kept alive and breed) Dwarf Seahorses in---I was 8 years old. I also had 5 more plastic shoeboxes to raise baby brine shrimp in to feed(thousands a day) those seahorses.
A BioCube may not be a ideal choice, but it's a GREAT START.

I just got 2 small zoanthids. What light is best for them to grow and stay alive?
"To grow and stay alive" = survive = most lights will serve.
If you want them to really thrive and reproduce for it's optimal results, get T5s for a small tank like yours.
