Maxxspect doesnt have the track record aqua illuminations has that I have seen. They are good looking fixtures and I think you would grow coral just fine under either one. Get the specs on each light: power consumption, coverage area, spectrum, controlability, opportunities for upgrades, or whatever else you find to be important in a fixture. Money is your limiting factor as it is for most of us. I scrimped and saved and got the lighting I though I would be happiest with. AI and maxxspect were both top contenders for me but I was finally sold on another fixture for different reasons. One my tank is 6ft long and it would take 6 ai sols to keep my light demanding corals happy according to aqua illuminations(rated for 1'x1') so for every two feet I was spending 800$ for two fixtures not including the controller as I dont use an apex or reef keeper. AI makes a great product but it was not for me. There isnt a one size fits all fixture on the market that I am aware of. They all have different recomended mounting heights above the water, different spread, different applications. Take your time and make sure you make one purchase that you are confident you are happy with! Good luck!
