Ok new 75g setup
mixed corals and nems
2 kessel360 we
or curent usa pro dual 48 "

One's going to be spotlights with shadows like halides, one's going to be more even with fewer shadows like T5's.

(Neither is better or worse.)

Depending how you feel about the shadows, you might want a third light in the Kessil configuration.

Technically, you can get away with a single Orbit Pro on a tank that size and grow most corals just fine.

To justify a Dual, you're either gearing up for clams/SPS (i.e. a bright tank) or you're going to suspend the fixture off the tank by more than an inch or two. Right? :)

You got it
was thinking of the kessils to start then add a third as things went on
but i do like the dual current pros as well cheep and cheerful controllable from jump
where the kessils more $ although have the controller for them allready

You check out the Orbit IC yet? Individually controllable LED's, and "even fuller" spectrum, for what it's worth. 90º lenses vs the Pro's 60º lenses...

i looked but thought the dual pro was better than the single ic
I'm use to the kessils and the current products have them on everything but never did up a 75
i will look into the orbit ic

"Better" is relative....

The IC is a bit more powerful in watts I think, but with weaker lenses (90º vs 60º).

It really depends what you're gonna grow....if you need a high-light installation like those you spec'd, then you'll need two IC's as well...maybe three. A single will technically light a 24" wide tank and grow most corals though. I think in a smaller 18" wide tank like your, the IC should be a good, safe bet. One or two, depending on needs.

I just got my first kessil in a raffle and I love it. Its actually much less of a spotlight than I always imagined. The corals where I replaced the chinese blackbox have improved greatly in only a couple weeks as well.

I have no experience to add with your other option.

I have Kessells on my 75 mixed reef.
Mostly softys and LPS. Pretty happy
With these

I have two Kessil 360we, 1 Azure and 1 Super Actinic both from Giesemann

ok how about this
3- Kessil A160WE since i have them already
