What makes shrooms split?

I got this guy almost a year ago. It's my fav. He split almost immediately and moved off the frag plug.

Then he did nothing. The 4 'kids' don't seem to grow, don't seem to move, they just sit there lookin' pretty.

I know kids these days are lazy and spoiled, but come on -- there's a whole reef out there to colonize.

I wish I knew, but I'm happy with my single mushroom colonies that aren't wreaking havoc and running amok reproducing.

I picked up a really nice grenadine ricordea yuma and it already spawned and detached 3 heads within a week. Ricordea seem to have the most potential to be prolific.

The answer is you! Everything you’re doing you’re doing right. You’ve provided a healthy environment for them and they’re reproducing. Moving around is normal. Sometimes caused by too much flow or light. But they’ll be fine. Congrats!!!

In better terms , its called Cloning (Reproduction). While this is great, another will be stress due to poor water quality, too much light or water flow or low salinity.
