Hi I have just purchased an aqua one aquanto 182 to use as a reef and fish tank, this is my first largish saltwater setup only had a nano til now, I have purchased a deltec mce 600 uprated skimmer with extra media compartment, what I would like to know is what media should I put in the filter that is built into the tank and should I use the extra media box in the skimmer for anything, thanks :squigglemouth:

GFO or Carbon would be a good choice. Don't use any "bio-balls" or other stuff that can collectd ditreus. You could even leave it empty. Saltwater tanks don't use a traditional filter. The live rock is the filter. But they do need GFO for Phosphates and Carbon to get rid of stuff from time to time.
