What medicine to keep on hand for brook

Fallow period for brook recently ended and I'd like to have medications on hand in case somehow it returns when I get new fish. What medicines do you keep on hand for brook specifically? Also I am from Canada and most fish medicine seems to be impossible to find due to restrictions

Is polymedic reef safe used to treat brook? That's one of the only medicines the fish stores here sell

I can get ruby rally on amazon so that works. The nt labs I can't seem to find available here. Is there an alternative?

Rally Pro is what I use. It has formalin and acriflavine and works really well for Brooklynella

Paraguard by Seachem should work. I've treated customers fish with it when they had brook and it didn't appear to come back (plus the fish stopped dying). It is an aldehyde product which makes sense that it would treat brook.

Seems like that one is difficult to find here as well. A lot of seachem products available but not that one

Just for fun I went on amazon.ca and they have a 2 liter of paraguard but that seems to be all lol

Ich X is similar to paraguard from the description. Maybe that is available? Same with Rid Ich +

If not, Rally Pro would be my choice. I would never use pure formalin unless you have serious PPE and Hazard equipment.

I am not aware of the concentrations of formaldehyde in medicines to work, but you could always double check those meds with someone on here who knows the needed concentration. I think vetteguy on this thread might know if you wanted to ask him.

Rally Pro is what I use. It has formalin and acriflavine and works really well for Brooklynella

FYI, while the original Ruby Reef Rally contains formalin, Rally Pro does not. Both products contain acriflavine. I got this information directly from Ruby Reef. My guess is formalin was removed from the product due to safety concerns with human exposure.

The product instructions still designate Rally Pro as treatment for Brooklynella.
