Saw this cluster, may have been under substrate unearthed by engineer goby.
What might these be? Baby snails/eggs?

The cluster is maybe 1cm in length if not a little less

My guess is actually poop. I have a couple jawfish and while they aren’t the same as engineer gobies, this is exactly how their poops look. They poop in their cave/hole and then pick it up with their mouths and spit it out somewhere.

Woah, that's some weird poop. Never saw it before, but hes only just now burrowing this week, so i guess before it turned into dust in front of a powerhead like the rest of my fish like to do.

I know, it’s super weird and freaked me out the first time I saw my big Black Capped Jawfish spit one of these out. Now I’ve seen my Blue Spotted Jawfish do it too. I couldn’t imagine what that weird mucusy ball could be! And then one day I realized that I have never seen them leave their caves to poop & they spit that out of their caves just like anything else they don’t want in there.

I just saw him carry out a much smaller one, definitely very similar.
