What now! cottony white spots

Just put these fish back into Display tank 9 days ago after being fishless for 76 days from a velvet outbreak. The 4 fish were treated with cupramine for 45 days then observed for 31 days. Cupramine was maintained at 0.4-0.5 using seachem copper test. Now the 3 dartfish are showing signs of something. They have this whitish almost cottony looking tufts on their sides. They are acting normal. Nothing so far on the trigger that is in with them. I took the best pictures I could but these guys don't stay still. Please advise!!!!!

Could be bacterial infection or battle wounds from being picked on while in quarantine. @Humblefish is very good with diagnosing these, lets see if he's available to help

They came out of QT with nothing on them. And 2 of the 3 dartfish have it.

Could also be flukes. Did you treat these fish with any de-wormer?

You can catch one of the firefish and do a 5 min FW dip. See if any flukes come off.

If they’re acting normal, perhaps they just scraped their sides on rock work while creating their new darthole? It might be wishful thinking, but I thought I’d throw some optimism in. Good luck!

I’m leaning toward infection from an injury. If it starts to become reddish or worsen treat with the trifecta in qt (metroplex, furan 2, and kanaplex).

I had an anthias develop something similar, and it turned out to be a lingering gram positive infection. She was scraping herself on a rock at bedtime, constantly reaggravating the injury/infection. So I pulled her, treated with NFG, moved back into a different retail tank (less rocks) and she's been fine ever since.

However, I would FW dip just to be sure this is not flukes.

Just an update: I was never able to catch them to a freshwater dip. The marks have faded significantly and did not look cottony a few days later. Looks more like a scars now. I think they probably scratched themselves building new bolt holes.
