Any idea why there are white threads coming off it ? Don't remember seeing them on it a few days ago

I'm no sponge expert but I think that is part of the sponge disintegrating. No idea why it does that though. I've seen this behavior on a lot of different sponges in my tank. Some look fine again a few days later, some dissolve into nothingness.
Some sponges grow out those "threads" to drop new sponges - so it's (at least sometimes) a method of asexual reproduction.
