So I installed a skimz macroalgae reactor like 2 months ago in one of my tanks put in some chaeto and let it run for approx 2 months running opposite light cycle. Today was doing a water change and decided to clean it well surprise surprise chaeto had not grown at all but this thing whatever it was grew on both chambers of the reactor, it's kinda fleshy and under normal lights brownish in color. Obviously wasn't even visible when I started the reactor.

Maybe a bacterial growth of some sort? That's really gross looking.....

Dead cheato, mine has done the same thing

Thanks a lot! I'm hungry now.. ;Vomit;Vomit

Lol I don't think chaeto it had more like a fleshy mushroom like consistency, also nope no dead nothing on that tank the original chaeto I put in was still there and wasn't rotting or anything

I also think its probably some algae covered macro algae. Maybe mixed with some coral slime or some other tank funk..
