Hey everyone recently picked up a 40 breeder during dollar a gollan sale.Trying to decide on what Overflow to get.Glass-holes,Eshopps M or synergy reef all though i think that one might but a little too big for my tank.Any help? Or maybe soneone has good experience with one i didn't mention..

I purchased the Synergy Shadow overflow along with the glass drill bit and could not be happier with it. The overflow came with a sturdy drill template I just taped to the tank which made drilling it free handed so much easier. The overall design is very impressive and doesn't take up much space inside the tank. Virtually invisible with the back glass painted black

Do you have a pic showing how far down from the top the overflow box sits on the inside of the tank? I bought the same and will be drilling for a 120 gallon tank.

In my opinion this overflow is a little over kill for such a small tank. It costs more than the tank itself. You can purchase overflows with similar concept for much cheaper as the synergy is $150.

However, if you have the money and want the best of the best then this is absolutely the way to go and you wont be disappointed!

This is what I did to keep my budget in check on a small 37 gallon tank. I used glass I got from a free tank, for the external box. And, used a Modular Marine acrylic internal box.

Nice, now thats what im talking about. Effective and cheap

Just curious, so you notched a weir into your glass pane under the brace? And then siliconed the external box?

I used Dow Corning 795 to attach the internal acrylic box. I did have to trim the box at the corner, in order to set the water level in the tank. I didn't want the water level below the trim. I used Momentive RTV108 for the outer glass box. The internal box was sized to cover the outer box for visual aesthetics.
