Broad question I suppose, but I a trying to figure out where to set my LEDs. This is mainly for a 120g with 24 NW 80 degree, 48 RB 80 degree, 32 Hyper Violet 60 degree, 10 deep red, 10 turquoise, 10 cool blue 80 degree.
NW and RB run at up to 1A, rest up to 700mA. I can set all 6 channels separately, but all atm run at same level except NW is 10/255th lower.
I have Apogee PAR meter that I've been doing some tests with. So far on both systems with different LEDs I set them to be about 250 in good spots of the sand bed (close under the fixture's center etc). I have two main areas where I would like to grow things like milies and acros. One large rock is fairly low in the tank (about 4-6") of the sand bed, other area is about half way up the water volume. There are few spots that are higher, but due to light placement then seem to get about same PAR as the mid level rock.
As of right now I have stopped at about 300-350 PAR on lower rock and 400-500 PAR on higher rock. Sand bed in some places reaches 300, but mostly 200-250 with maybe 100-150 to the sides.
As corals would grow up from that bottom half eventually they would get into area of 700-800 PAR, believe just under water surface is around 900 PAR. Which would likely be too much for most if they reach these heights.
What do you guys think? Should I leave it where it is, lower it, go even higher?
Thanks
