So I’m planning a tank upgrade from a 40b to a 75g. Just was wondering in what order do I add my fish. I have:

2 clownfish
Yellow Tang
Blue Tang
Yellow Watchman Goby
Sixline Wrasse
Cleaner Shrimp
& not sure if I will add more in the future.

I know the sixline goes last, but should I worry about the other ones. Also was wondering if I should drip acclimate again or as I was thinking it’s just a big water change. It’ll have new sand, same rock, most of the original water. Any advice is welcomed ( other than tang police [emoji4] )

I would do
Clowns, goby, six line, yellow tang. A yellow tang is arguable in that tank size as they are one of the smaller and less active tangs but a 75 really is too small for a hippo. If you absolutely must have one then buy a baby and you can keep it for 2-3 years or so and I would add him before the yellow tang. It is important to quarantine all your fish if possible, ich is especially common with tangs.
You do not have to drip your fish, once the temperature is where it should be in the tank I’d float them all in bags to adjust temp, add a cupful of tank water to the bags and let it sit 5 minutes before you let them out. This is assuming your salinity matches up.

I don’t see the need to add the six line last. IME they grow slowly and are peaceful when young. I’ve had mine for about a year and he’s not grown much. And he’s a model citizen so far. Tangs on the other hand, grow quickly. The only peaceful tangs I’ve ever had were in my 500 gallon. They had tons of space. I had a yellow, hippo, purple, naso, orange shoulder and sailfin. I believe aggression is heightened in small spaces. Add the yellow last and consider a Tomini instead of a hippo.

I read the question as he already has those fish, so it's not a matter of what size to buy them. If already having them though, which ones are already the biggest bully or more aggressive? There are obviously general rules of thumb, but nothing beats already observing and knowing the individual fish. However, I think in general I would move the clowns and goby, then the wrasse, then the two tangs.

Also, if doing an upgrade and both tanks running you should be able to exactly match temp and salinity and be abe to just move them when it's time.

If I were you I would pass on the blue hippo Tang for sure. You really shouldn't do a yellow Tang either but I know many people who have done it and either upgraded in a few years or gave the Tang away later. The long term solution for tangs in your size tank would be the bristletooth tangs. Yellow eye Kole Tang, Tomini, and others. They stay much smaller. Also, the shrimp needs to be before any wrasse you put in. It's gives the best chance for the shrimp to survive as the wrasse hopefully wont see it as food

One tang only and that's even pushing it, from bristletooth family only.

Already had it.[emoji4] It’s what attracted me to saltwater.

Since all fish were moved from the 40 breeder, it won't matter what order you add them to the 75.

Ya I had them, all in a 40b except the hippo tang which was in another tank with two other clowns & a lawnmower. I was just wondering if there was a certain order I should have introduced them so there was no fighting in the new tank. Just to let everyone know, all is well.
