What is this pod looking thing? Found one under the microscope after a dip yesterday. What is it?

looks like an amphipod kinda
It does... I'm sure it is some kind of pod but not a good one. BRS showed it on a video about dipping corals and in a shot with pests showed this same thing. The pic is actually a screenshot of the video but exactly what I found. I has two long appendages at its rear end.

Looks like a common amphipod. Usually harmless and good fish snacks, but can multiply to large numbers in tanks without fish, and can irritate corals in large amounts. They'll chew on stressed corals, and may take a stressed coral down to a dead coral if there are enough of them.

That said, you generally want these in your tank, they're good fish food and generalized scavengers. They're also very, very hard to keep out.
