Hey Hey,

I have a MJ400 in my 10g frag tank and its just not cutting it. It was a left over from a overhaul I did to my 24g. Well needless to say I have to get some water flowing in that little tank.

I run Koralia in my display tank. What do you think would be a good power head for the 10g tank?

Tunze 6025...they really stand behind their products. I just had an old C-clamp that holds the powerhead give out and they shipped me a new one for free...no questions asked. Now that's what I call customer service. They even offered to replace the whole unit but to be fair and honest the units were fine...it was the clamps that went bad. Roger went above and beyond in my oppinon...I'd recommend Tunze to anyone.

I will have to see if one of my lfs sells them.

you could aways go the Koralia #2 good luck with it though

Cheapest I found them (the MJ mods) was on fishsupply.com...way less than everyone else was asking.. The Tunzes you can check around...sometimes you can find someone selling out getting rid of theirs for a reasonable price.

You can make your own mod...but for all the trouble I'd say go for the pre made mod kit. I think I paid like $15 for mine and it really increases the flow...plus you also get the kit for mounting the modded jet...give it a nice wide flow...

http://fishsupply.com/saf-mj77405.html here it is...can't go wrong for the price and it works on the 600 and 900 also incase you ever want to go to a bigger powerhead.

Folks, isn't a Vortech on a 10g tank a bit of overkill?

On my 6' wide 135g I have a big controllable Tunze 6100 Stream on one side and a Maxi-mod 1200 on the other. This setup replaced a pair of large Tunze 6080 Streams. I wanted to create dissimilar flow patters.

Anyhow, the little 1200 Maxi-Mod has really impressed me! Although narrower flow, the quantity seems as high as my old 6080. For under $30 it has been amazing... it could even be too much for a 10g.

That was my concern. I did not want to turn the darn thing on and half the water shoot out of the tank..haha
