What s growing on my hammer?

Hey everyone

I spotted something growing on my branching hammer.(see pictures )

Can anyone tell me if it is good or bad? What should I do about it?

I am fairly new to LPS.

The very right of the right branch is a nudibranch. You need to dip it and check for tiny clusters of eggs. The eggs need to be scrapped off. The dip does not kill them. The nudibranchs will fall off in a few minutes of being in the dip.

You will need to check again in a week or so. For additional nudibranchs. They can travel onto other LPS. That variety prefers euphyllia but will eat duncans, bubbles, etc.
 
I'd just watch it then and see if it gets larger or moves. If not then I would not worry about it.
 
You could frag and remount to a fresh piece of live rock. There may be undesirable algae growing on the base.BMake sure you frag down far enough as to avoid penetrating the live area of the coral.
