I use the Aquacraft that came with the refractometer. I haven't thought about replacing it yet . Both The meter & solution aren't a year old.

I make a diy by randy holmes farley. I dont trust mass produced standards.
 
I'm using the one from @Buckeye Hydro . When I calibrate with it and then check with RODI everything lines up on both ends of the scale. I have three other brands and none of them agree. It's really a shame about these 'standards'.
 
I believe all solutions are designed to be shaken before use. If you don't, then it could potentially drift after many months of use.

My brand new Brightwell reads 0.5 lower than brand new Aquacraft on a Vee Gee. They are very close, but Brightwell reads a smidge lower.

Delta doesn't make a practical difference. Most errors are either user error or bad solutions.
