What salt are you using? (PLUS Recent Salt Study)

I have started using the ESV B-ionic salt and have noticed that there is no more having to scrape the glass every day in fact it takes 2-3 days for there to be anything to scrape.....Might make the full switch to this salt......

I just switched from Reef Crystals to Aquavitro and I am not happy,when I first opened the bucket it had a really weird smell to it and during the mixing process I noticed the heater,pump,and entire 32g brute trashcan was covered in a white powder.I will finish this bucket then start the search for a new salt over again

While living on the coast, I used natural seawater. Once I moved from the coast, I started using IO. I just bought a bucket of Seachem Reef and just mixed my first batch, the water tested out at.
Cal- 400
Alk- 10
PH- 8.4
Phos.- 0.02

I was not able to test for Mag, I am out of the test kit and no one locally has one. I am waiting to see the results of the change.

I would have to say that I am one of the few who has used every salt brand mentioned above. From my own personal experience, reef crystals and instant ocean are ok for the price. Tropic marine(which is what I'm currently using) always gave me great results. I never have to dose and corals take off. I do about 20g every Sunday and dose nothing. I only add 2 drops of iodine every Thursday(Kent). I think alot has to do with what people are willing to pay for salt as well. My tank is 150g btw.

Have been Using Seachem's SALINITY for the last 6 months and have seen more stability with ALK, Calc and my Mag levels. My PH goes from 7.8 to 8.1 thru the lighting scd, Price is slightly higher but i mix less salt than the instructions say to get 1.025.
I dose 2-part B-Ionic every 12hrs to maintain levels and do 10% water changes weekly on my 92 gallon corner tank. :angel:

I use Oceanic in my sps 135. It has high mag and calcium, but lower alk. Perfect for my Bacter7/vodka dosing.

I use Instant Ocean in my anemone/softie/fish 240 because I don't need anything special and am trying to reduce the amount of coralline I get on the front surface. And it's pretty cheap.
