I have tropic marin salt, and im not happy with the alk situation with it. And the levels it mixes too. Im too new to start messing with alk dosing and other elements. Whats better out there?

most do TM, reef crystals, red sea, or instant ocean. based on what i’ve seen, i believe most do TM or red sea.

i don’t do water changes.

do you mean you just dont like the levels the tm mixes to or is there a problem with alkalinity? doesnt get better for salt just other brands as shaka said

you arent really too new to start dosing alkalinity as alk can pretty much be dosed in any tank especially ones with more coral growth.

There's no "one salt to rule them all." There have been showstopping tanks with all kinds of salt mixes. And that includes the red-headed step child of aquarium salts, plain Instant Ocean. Jason Fox uses it, as have a majority of the TOTMs on Reef Central.

If you don't like the parameters your current salt has, there's a salt out there for every parameter range. If the manufacturer doesn't list the official parameters, you can usually find them on forums.
