Hey all,

Once my stand comes I'll be setting up my first reef tank. Obviously to start, I'll have to give it time before adding some soft corals. I purchased the 200 gallon box of reef crystals today from amazon. However, I'm now wondering if I should start out with a different salt since I will not be adding coral for a few months or if that would actually do more harm switching the salt. I don't believe the extra calcium will be harmful to the new fish I'll be adding but just wanted to check first.

I would just use it I don't see a major problem switching is, but it would be simpler to just use the same salt. Congrats on the first tank any info on it would be cool

Got a 40 gallon clear for life uniquarium. I purchased 40 lbs of reef saver rock and 30 lbs of live fiji pink sand (one bag has some red stuff growing from it... coralline algae?) I purchased an rodi unit and hydor slim skim nano protein skimmer (only skimmer that would fit in the back). The stocking for now will be 2 ocelaris clowns, royal gramma, banggai cardinal and purple firefish. I love flame angels but scared of the risks of be taking with coral so I decided not to add. How's this all sound?

Forgot to mention... I actually just received today my current usa LED lighting today.
