My 200 gallon is almost full! Ive got a 160 gallon of instant ocean reef crystals and a 220 gallon of seachem salt. Which would you use most of?

I like reef crystals if it's going to be a reef. I'd mix them together (it's not going to matter on a new setup) and after it's gone use only one kind, for more stability.

Getting ready to start one up... with Tropic Marin Pro Reef.

Have used IO for decades, and Reef Crystals in my last system, both work fine. I'm switching mainly because I'm going to the Triton system in this new tank, but also because IO/RC seem to be more than a little inconsistent. Mix up a batch today, you get one set of test results, mix up a batch from a different bag next week, and it's way different. I'm hoping TMPR will be a little more consistent.

either. your going to to a big water change after the cycle. Thats that salt id choose wisely not the initial one.

Where I live we have ocean water we can have delivered. I intend to use that on the upgrade.
alk is low, cal is low, mag is low. bugs and bacteria are high. View is nice.
