What saltwater fish for 20 long?

I had a pistol shrimp for a while. He never bothered my cleaner. I may have been lucky thouhh

I will agree it can be done but I think in a tank of this size it’s definitely a possibility he’s going to get shot.

In my experience I have never used a quarantine tank but find it helpful if you have a sick Inhabitant. Definitely worth it if you have the extra space and equipment

Quarantine in you have to equipment. if you don't on a slightly more morbid note its only a 20g so if something went terribly wrong you can let it go fallow relatively easy. Its just a risk. If its from a place you know quarantines then you should have less worry. Some fish local fish stores quarantine or at least medicate fish and watch them before they put them out for sale. Mine quarantine all their fish for atleast 2 weeks before you can even look at them to think about purchase for some fish longer.....as for your list I like the wheeler's Shrimp Goby instead of Yellow Watchmen Goby. Also the damsels are sometimes mean boogers. You can probably do some form of Goby and then 1 other fish like the firefish or something. If you can find a pgmy wrasse that might work.

Why the wheelers shrimp goby and not the watchman goby?
They look cool lol in this hobby you find a lot of fish a certain color. The wheelers is kinda cool and it does the same thing a watchman does and theyre usually cheaper plus they will also pair with a pistol shrimp if you do go with a pistol shrimp just like the watchman.

I see but will the wheelers shrimp goby be out and not be hiding all the time?
Can't guarantee that they're all different. A watchmen might not be out all the time either. I still like YWG though. They both will enjoy a burrow if they have one lol green clown goby are cool or Citron gobies. But most of these fish are not swimmers. They all have a territory and kind of stay to it.

Go to liveaquaria.com and start looking through their list. Appropriate tank size is in every description.

I have narrowed it down to 5 fish I would like in the tank tell me what you think.
1.) 1 firefish
2.) 1 blue\green chromis
3.) 1 pajama cardinal fish
4.) 1 wheelers shrimp goby
5.) 1 four stripe damsel fish
Those are all the fish now I will list the 3 inverts that I would like to have.
1.) 1 pistol or cleaner shrimp
2.) 1 tuxedo sea urchin
3.) a few nasarius snails
What do you think?

Nassarius are a yes and I would do trochus for your glass and rock they can flip themselves over. If you do a ywg or wheeler you can do a pistol they don't need a pistol though. A lot of people like their cleaners they have personality. You should do either or without an issue. Firefish are pretty. The purple ones are more expensive.

I wouldn't add more than 1 or 2 more to a 20 gallon. Spread out over a couple months

For CuC go to reefcleaners.org and purchase the package for a 10 gallon. Way cheaper than LFS and should be all you need

I have a yellow watchmen Gobby and he’s not out all the time once they make their borough they tend to stay in it until it’s feeding time. You will find them grazing from time to time but like the other user said they won’t be out a lot and they’re not swimmers. As far as the cleanup crew goes I second getting some snails preferably tronchus nassarius or however it’s spelled and maybe one or two turbo snails. Like the other user said 1-2 per gallon. I use only snails in my tank. Make sure you have plenty for them to eat.
