Looks like I'm switching to Apex in the near future!

I don't think the new quiet drive vortechs can be controlled with the apex.

I'm pretty sure you will need the ReefLink to control them remotely.

I go from short pulse, constant, nutrient export, reef crest then back to short pulse.

Are talking about an old vortech retrofitted to be like the new 'W' quiet drives?

I'm pretty sure they I've seen people on one of the forums hear complaint that they can't control the new 'W' quiet drives with their Apex system.
(I may be wrong though.)

The only ecotech product that can't be controlled by the wxm module are the vectra pumps

Not sure where the idea came from you can't control the QD with Apex because its just wrong. I'm running the new MP40QD's with Apex and the WXM wireless module. Reeflink like other limited specialty interfaces (especially lighting only) is a total waste of money when you can have one controller for the whole system like Apex, Reefkeeper etc. Until Ecotech has a complete system controller don't waste your money.

I hear so much about fish or anemones getting caught in their wavemaker. I haven't had that problem but I wonder how many folks use the protective sponges that come with or you can buy. I used them for quite a while but they were never intended to use on a fresh water tank but will use them on my salt. So are the fish getting caught from the front or the sides
